About Us

Dr. Balprit Dhillon completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo and received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed her externship rotations in several ocular disease specialty sites including the Manchester Veterans Affairs Medical Center and South Boston Community Health Center.  She went on to complete a Primary Care Residency at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia where she worked with several renowned ophthalmologists specializing in glaucoma, cataract and retinal disease.  The intense program provided advanced training in many areas of primary eye care and on the management of ocular disease.

 

Dr. Dhillon has received Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent Certification and is able to treat a wide range of ocular conditions.

Her special interests include glaucoma and dry eye management.

Dr. Dhillon is dedicated to providing her patients with an exceptional experience. Her comprehensive approach and emphasis on patient education ensures that patients understand the health of their eyes.

 

Dr. Dhillon serves as a clinical examiner for competency evaluation of Internationally trained optometrists.She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, College of Optometrists of Ontario and the American Academy of Optometrists. When Dr. Dhillon is not examining eyes, she enjoys traveling and playing volleyball.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Jane Yang received her Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto, and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, as well as a Master of Vision Science degree. She has completed a diverse set of externships including Wenzhou Medical University Affiliated Eye Hospital in Zhejiang, China, Indian Health Services in Bethel, Alaska, and Lowell Veterans Affairs Medical Centre in Massachusetts. She has trained under ophthalmologists and optometrists specializing in retina, glaucoma, corneal disease, cataracts, amblyopia, and primary care.

 

Dr. Yang is passionate about public health and global access to eye care. She has participated in several humanitarian trips to provide eye exams to communities in need. She strives to deliver excellent patient care and patient education through thoughtful communication and dedication to evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Yang provides myopia control management including orthokeratology.

 

Dr. Yang is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario and a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists. She is also a board member of the Alumni Association of the New England College of Optometry.

 

In her spare time, Dr. Yang enjoys baking, hiking, and spending time with her two cats. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin, and welcomes new patients to Bloordale Village Eye Clinic.
