Colour Vision Evaluation:
Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) coverage:
Individuals 19 and under and those 65 and up are eligible for an eye examination once every 12 months with a valid OHIP card.
OHIP also covers a major eye examination once every 12 months for individuals between the ages of 20- 64 who have medical conditions requiring regular eye examinations.
Ontario Disability Support Program/ Ontario Works:
Individuals between the ages of 20 to 64 who are eligible for coverage under either the Ontario Disability Support Program Act, 1997, the Ontario Works Act, 1997 or the Family Benefits Program are eligible for an eye examination once every 24 months with a valid OHIP card.
Non-Insured Health Benefits Program for Inuit and First Nations (NIHB):
The NIHB program provides coverage for eye examinations. Please contact the office for more information.
Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP):
IFHP provides coverage for eye examinations. IFHP eligibility will be requested at the time of the visit.
Individuals with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes are eligible for an eye examination once every 12 months with a valid OHIP card. Please bring a list of your medications at your appointment.
